Introduction of Management Science and Engineering Discipline

      School of Eonomics and Management was founded by Chinese famous economist Jiang Yiwei in 1978, who was appointed as economic counsetor of the State Council. In 1979 school began to recruit undergraduates. In 1998 the school got the gift of master degree of Management Science and Engineering as the first-level discipline and in 2005 got gift of master degree of Quantitative Economics and Enterprise Management as the second-level discipline and the gift of applying master degree of Management Science and Engineering as equal education. In 2006 it got gift of master degree of Industrial Engineering and master degree of Logistics Engineering in 2007 and master degree of Project Management in 2010.

  The discipline has 48 teachers, in which 10 teachers got PHD, 1 teacher is tutor of PHD, 1 teacher is young and middle-aged expert with having special devotion in Hebei Province, 1 teacher is the person selected of "Three, Three and Three Talent Project" in new century in Hebei Province and 2 teachers are core young and middle-aged teacher in university in Hebei Province. It has 11 labs, such as industrial engineering, transportation, logistics, securities, E-commerce, accounting computerization, decision simulation, management information system, network, computer training and starting-up education and Jindie ERP Research Center in HEUST, Innovation Service Institute of Middle-sized and Small Enterprise in Hebei Province, which covers 2345 m2 and total value is RMB 8.38 million. The discipline has trained 15 periods postgraduates and 86 students got master degree.

  After over 30 years’ construction the discipine got good performance in terms of academic direction construction, academic team and discipline platform construction and founds good foundation for development and promotion in future. Connecting with regional economic construction the discipline pays more attention to combination of theory and practice and uses many disicplines to participate drawing up of "the 12th Five-Year Plan"of social and economic development in Shijiazhuang and Hebei Province and regional innovation system construction in Shijiahzuang and monitoring and evaluation of scientific technological progress statistics to provide the important reference for establishing development planning and policy in Shijiazhuang and Hebei Province.

  The research direction:

  Complex system optimization theory and method.

  Taking optimization problems in complex manufacturing system as the research background, it focus on the theory and methods study to solve the problem on the integrated processing of uncertain information in the complex system and the optimal control of the system based on stochastic process, Optimal control theory, fuzzy set theory, rough set theory, gray theory and Intelligence computation technology, and so on. It will provide more methods and means for social and economic development planning and management decision making.

  Intelligent manufacturing system and logisticis engineering.

  The research fields involve in data collecting, information integrating, process integrating, organization integrating and system integrating. It mainly focus on such fields as the intelligent processing of manufacturing unit, the theory of information integration for intelligence multi-agent in production, Logistics system planning design and the optimal allocation of resources and Simulation and optimization for the supply chain logistics system, etc.

  Information system and knowledge engineering.

  The study includes information system description and processing, information system architecture, information integration and fusion, decision theory and method, knowledge acquisition and representation, the establishment of the knowledge environment based on control theory and information technology. It is guided by the theory of system engineering, decision and Complex system optimization. It mainly focuses on the application of such modeling and evaluation methods as influence diagrams, chaos, information fusion and ontology theory. It will benefit for the information strategy decision-making.

  System Operating and evaluating.

  It carries on the study on organization model designing, organization and management process optimization, customer and employee satisfaction evaluation, quality management , logistics planning, .etc. by using the theories and methods of philosophy,psychology, management, system engineering. Its focus is Performance evaluation and optimization research for kinds of system especially for management system and innovation system.

  Emergency management model and method.

  The studies mainly focus on emergency management system, Emergency information collection and integration technology, evaluation of emergency plans, Dangerous event monitoring and modeling and simulation, Emergency decision-making model and method by using related theory such as psychology, management, mathematics and system engineering. It aims at providing Emergency management advice for different departments.
